RCA DRC-8335

One of the most common issues with this model is they get stuck on "Hello" when you turn
it on and it is not responsive to anything. Resetting the unit will not fix this problem, because the
issue is a capasitor on the power supply, that is too small. This problematic capacitor is number C226,
which is rated 16v 270uf, this often blows out. To fix this problem all you have to do is replace this piece
on the power supply. To do this follow these directions:

Materials:
- 35v 470uf electrolytic capacitor (can be found a radioshack)
- Soldering iron

Step 1: Remove the case from the unit by taking out the screws on the side and back.

Step 2: Remove the power supply by taking the five screws off the power supply circut board.

Step 3: Locate the capacitor C226 and remove it.

Step 4 Place the replacement cap in it place and solder in place

Step 5: Put the board back in place and screw down.

Step 6: Put the cover back on.

Step 7: Plug in and test.

It should work after the steps above. I have fixed over ten units using the method above. Hope this helps!
